Love the convenience, the quality, portability, ease of use. However, one can only print about 20 photos before the ink cartridge gets low, so it is not economical. Does the convenience make up for the expense. You will have to decide for yourself.
This was, in the long run, a waste of money. When I replaced the fairly new print pack with another new one, nothing changed.
The quality is very good. I liked this printer at first.
After about two years, the printer displayed an error that the print pack had to be replaced. I had to clean the heads everytime, and that wasted ink.
Still, I liked the convenience. The error will not go away, and the printer is useless.
I am very disapppointed in Epson, and I will not even consider buying another.
These are expensive toys, and I'm sure I will never get the cost per print down to drug store prices, but it is awfully convenient and makes a dandy print. That printer died just after the warranty expired. I bought this to replace the Kodak Easy Share printer I bought with my camera. It is fast, and the colors are sharp. This Epson model is great for me. It does almost everything better than the Kodak model. I think they charge way too much for replacement ink and paper, but that's another issue. I would certainly recommend this product.
I researched a lot of photo printers and this one had good reviews for the price. I don't print all my pictures on this but sometimes you want some right away and it's perfect for that. I didn't want to spend a lot of money for one. The pictures are good quality. I would recommend this to anyone. I am just an amateur photographer and it works well for me.
So printing from photo editing software may be hit or miss depending on the compatibility of this printer and the software programs you have. When I printed directly from my camera's memory card, everything worked fine.
I like the printer itself and the photos are very good quality. I've only printed 20 pictures on this little printer but it works pretty well so far.
Maybe it would be fine on a newer computer but it's slow on mine (iMac G5, 1.8 GHz, 1.25 GB DDR SDRAM). It is also easy to set up and easy to use.
The software that came with it (that you install on your computer) runs very slowly. When I hooked the printer up to my computer and printed from Photoshop and other applications, sometimes the image didn't print out the way it appeared on the screen.
But printing right from the PictureMate printer was easy and convenient.
